Os Pronomes Indefinidos (Indefinite Pronouns)
podem ser substantivos (indefinite
pronouns), quando os substituem, ou adjetivos (indefinite adjectives),
quando qualificam os substantivos:
Exemplos
- They can choose anything from the menu.
- You may invite anybody you want to your birthday party.
- We can go anywhere you'd like this summer.
- He would give anything to get into Oxford.
- Fido would follow you anywhere.
O verbo que será utilizado logo após um pronome indefinido precisa estar conjugado no singular. Veja alguns exemplos:
- Someone/Somebody is waiting for her at the door. (Alguém está esperando por ela na porta.
- Nobody/No one showed up at work today. (Ninguém apareceu no trabalho hoje.)
- Does anyone/anybody here know how to speak Spanish? (Alguém aqui sabe falar espanhol?)
- Everybody/Everyone loved the party. (Todo mundo amou a festa.)
